Roll for Narrative: Now with a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Option
You can now pick the bits you actually want to read.
I’ve made a few changes behind the scenes on Roll for Narrative. They might even be helpful!
The site’s now split into Sections, which means you can subscribe only to the topics you care about (and nope tf out of the ones you don’t). It means no filler. No inbox clutter. Just the good stuff.
This wasn’t a grand strategic move. I stumbled into the feature while poking around and almost broke everything in the process. But now that it’s in place, I think it’s a win-win. You get more control over what turns up in your inbox, and I get to organise things in a way that makes sense.
Despite being completely accidental, it should solve for those emails I get after I send out a how-to-write post: “But Richard, I’m not a writer…” Well, good news is, you can choose to let that water flow down a different stream, bypassing you entirely.
Here’s how things are now grouped.
✍️ Studio Parry
This is where I post my own fiction stuff (think updates, serials, and new releases). Examples:
You can find it under Studio Parry in the top nav bar. If you enjoyed Hearthlight, you’ll want to stick around as I’ll be uploading the ebook variant shortly.
📚 Reviews
Thoughtful takes on books, movies, and games, asking why you liked something, not just whether it was good. This is the kind of thing there:
If you thought it’d be under Reviews in the nav bar… you guessed right.
🛠️ 4theWriters
Tips, tools, and advice for fellow writers (practical & actionable, not preachy). Stuff like:
You will go straight to the head of the class if you think it’s under 4theWriters.
🤔 Overthinking
Commentary on tech, publishing, and life online. Each post is like a shower thought, but 3,000 words long. Here’s the temperature of that water:
By now, you’ve probably guessed it’ll be under Overthinking.
