🗡️ Steel in the Shadows: Meet Isolde Ildanach (aka Astra Invicta)
Some heroes wear capes. Some wear hoods.
And some wear scars like armour and move through cities like ghosts.
Let’s talk about her.
🖤 The Girl Beneath the Mask
Isolde Ildanach isn’t the chosen one. She’s not touched by divine magic or carrying some grand birthright.
She’s just someone who lost everything… and decided to fight back.
By day, she’s a goth community college student who hides behind sarcasm, oversized hoodies, and a deep distaste for Cassius’s very punchable face. She studies environmental science and pretends not to care.
By night, she’s Astra Invicta: a masked vigilante clad in ancient banded armour, fists full of fury, hunting monsters in the shadows of Valhaven. And she’s good at it. Maybe too good.
But she’s also still human. Just a woman in a world of gods, demons, and old blood magic. Skilled, yes. Untouchable? Not even close.
⚔️ Her Story (The Short Version)
Former martial arts prodigy. Judo and karate champ.
Raised in a remote Montana town. Her parents worked at a CCCD outpost (no, that’s not a typo, and yes, you need to read the book to find out more).
When doppelgängers murdered then replaced them, she tried to stop it.
She failed. Her brother died. She nearly bled out next to a freezer full of lies.
Now, she walks the city with fire in her heart. She’s not here for justice.
She’s here for vengeance.
(And maybe, just maybe, redemption.)
🎧 Her Theme:
Steel in the Shadows
Every hero needs a soundtrack. This one’s hers.
It’s sharp, driving, and full of tension—just like a broken hero that won’t quit.
You can almost hear the clash of steel, the scrape of boots on wet concrete, the cold breath of a city that’s forgotten how to care. Some fight because they believe.
Isolde fights because she can’t walk away.
“The night calls my name, I can’t look away / A sentinel of broken light, I can’t disobey.”
Steel in the Shadows is Track 3 of the Three Faces, One Fate album. It’s Astra Invicta’s heartbeat.
Isolde had her past stolen, and she will have her blood price. Her song isn’t hopeful. It’s a promise—vengeance and purpose forged from pain.
You can feel her walking through an empty street with nothing but steel and fury holding her together.
You can hear the echo of every loss in the bassline.
And when the chorus breaks?
“Steel in the shadows, fire in my veins / A storm of vengeance breaks the chains.”
That’s when you remember: she’s not fighting for peace. She’s fighting to burn the lies down.
Let it play in your headphones. Close your eyes.
You’ll see her. Mask on. Fists raised, and no intention of stopping.
This is what it sounds like to fight without magic.
To bleed and keep going.
To become the myth monsters tell each other, because you’re the thing they pray never finds them.
🧠 What’s in a Name?
Isolde Ildanach: A nod to her Celtic roots—“ice” and “battle,” plus Ildanach, meaning skilled in many arts. Her legacy is in her name.
Astra Invicta: Latin for unconquered star. A symbol of what she’s become: a guardian in the dark, undefeated even when broken.
💬 Want More?
Next week, we step into the rain-soaked rooftops of Valhaven and watch her in action.
But today, let her walk with you through the shadows.
She’s not what you expect.
And that’s the point.
If you’re into shadow-walking vigilantes, myth-fuelled justice, and fantasy stories that come with a soundtrack, you’re in the right place.
I love how Isolde’s journey is driven by vengeance, but there’s a deeper layer of redemption woven in. I also loved the artwork
Wow... Loved the song... But also really love the sounds of the book 😱😁😍
If you need reviewers I'd love to be amongst them 😁
What a storyline...really sounds soooo good 😃
