It was awesome when I started reading Meltdown just yesterday and saw the dedication you gave to my father and I. It gave me goosebumps and left a profound feeling of friendship and love for you and Rae. Thank you Richard. You’re not only an excellent author but a wonderful human being also. ❤️
I do *want* to write another Future Forfeit (Chromed) book, buuuut I need to refine what I want to do, and also need to check the audience. It hasn't found as wide a readership as some of my other books, so would it just be a vanity project? Not sure! 🤣 There are definitely components of the story I was thinking about when I wrote THE END way back when, and my own thinking has evolved since then - but so has the world. My 'prophetic' cyberpunk series is too damn much like a documentary now, and so if I do pick it up, it needs to tell a story worth telling to an audience of today.
The reveal that humans came first flips the usual power dynamics in a subtle way. Most fantasy setups lean hard on elves as the ancient ones, but making humanity the original presence reframes all that borrowed superiority into something borrowed literally. The bit about orcs being unable to crack letters despite wanting to feels like it sets up interesting narrative tension around knowledge access vs raw capability.
Nice article, but we already knew we humans came first and will leave last, just turn out the lights and lock the door.
😄
I really enjoy your rambling Richard.
I also wanted to tell you I’m rereading your Chrome Upgrade trilogy plus short stories in between. I think I can truthfully say this is my favorite, especially Delilah. I can hardly wait to get to it, but Consensus comes first. ❤️
Thank you as always 🙂 I'm stoked you're reading Chromed, I feel like your Dad loved those ones too. It's the series I most wanted to write - and probably the one I think about the most after having finished them.
Yes, my Dad did love them and I do too.

We need to recognise those who were with us along the way! Your Dad always had my back.
Yeah, he really loved you. Now I do.
Say hey to Rae for me! ❤️
Richard, a question for you:
At the end of the last book (Restore) you hinted at another book to come.
Is that no longer the case or could you still pen something for your wonderful fans? (Like me 😄)
Captain Britt ❤️

Just wait until you meet our heroes 🤣 There is one of each collectable in the card deck. Maybe I should do a compositor of them?
