Awesome 🙂 Monday brings the third chapter in this series, I hope that'll be worth a listen, too.

I'm considering how I put content on Substack; the automated triggers pushing video to YouTube aren't amazing (lack of playlists, for example). I wonder about switching to video + audio, using Substack's podcast feature; that way people can listen to the article or click through to YT for full video glory... Any thoughts on viability based on how you roll?

For me personally from a consumption point of view I'm still pretty new to substack, but find myself gravitating to it more. My go-tos are reddit, youtube, and to a lesser-extent substack and linkedin.

I think each has their own strengths and weaknesses and importantly, audiences. As a blogging platform, substack is where it's at, there is a lot of good energy and momentum around it.

I would see little disadvantage cross-posting video content on both substack and youtube, if the overheads are not too onerous. Having the video in substack will create network effects in substack, that you won't get if you are popping people out of substack into youtube.

I'm sure there are solutions out there that can help with cross-posting, I recall HootSuite from back in the day.

Don't know if this is helpful or answers your question? 🤷

Yep it's useful, thanks. The good news is YouTube vids are embedded so no need to pop out, but I think Google's asinine waterboarding with ads into each piece of content makes it less interesting for the casual user who has to wade through 1 minute of unskippable ads on Persil just to get to the audio.
