Sup.
Back on 10 Feb, I launched Roll for Narrative. It’s a place to unpack stories, review great (and otherwise) narratives, and build a better writer’s toolbox.
Since then, I’ve published across a few threads:
📚 Reviews (movies, games, books… wherever the story’s good);
🛠 4theAuthors (tools and writing advice);
🧠 Overthinking, but Professionally (tech, AI, and culture); and
✍️ Studio Parry (my own fiction updates and writing progress) including the well-received free ebook/audio The Light That Remains.
If you joined back when all I talked about was my own author stuff, you might not have been expecting all of that. So: let’s do a temperature check. Let’s keep things useful, not overwhelming.
It’s short (only three questions!). It tells me:
What kind of content you actually like seeing;
Which of my story worlds you’re enjoying most; and
How you find Substack as a platform (vs. the Old Ways™).
On that last one: I’ve had a few of you say Substack is confusing. I get you. If that’s you, let me know either in the survey, comments, or replying. Your feedback guides solutions (do I offer tips? a how-to video? or even reconsider where certain content lives?).
Reminder: You can also update your preferences to fine-tune what you get. The fastest way is using the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, which (paradoxically!) leads to a control panel that lets you control which topics you prefer to see (you don’t have to nuke the site from orbit). Here’s that survey link again:
Thanks again for being part of this. You’ve got endless things competing for your attention, and I appreciate every minute you give to this weird little narrative corner of the internet.

Still thinking too hard, professionally.
